ROQC and Oliasoft Partner to Connect Subsurface and Drilling Well Planning Workflows.

Oliasoft and ROQC have spent the past months building something engineers have needed for a long time: a direct line between subsurface and drilling. The new integration between Oliasoft WellDesign and the ROQC Sync for Petrel plugin lets trajectory data and its surrounding context, including targets and formation tops, flow directly between the two applications. What used to require manual handoffs now happens automatically.

Closing the Gap Between Subsurface and D&W

Trajectory design sits at the intersection of two engineering domains that have rarely been properly connected. Iterating on a well path between subsurface and drilling teams has typically meant re-entering data by hand, exporting and importing files, and reconciling versions across tools. It is slow, and it introduces risk at exactly the point where alignment matters most. The integration between Oliasoft WellDesign and ROQC Sync removes that friction: trajectory and context data now pass between Petrel and WellDesign without manual handling.

Faster Alignment Between Subsurface and Drilling

“Well placement is a shared decision between subsurface and drilling, but the tools supporting that decision have rarely been connected. This integration means engineers can iterate together, on the same data, without losing time or accuracy in the handoff.”

Built for How Engineers Actually Work

For engineers on both sides, the impact is concrete: less manual data entry, fewer chances for transcription error, and a much tighter loop when working through well placement scenarios together. Data silos between D&W and subsurface disappear, so changes to targets or formation tops surface exactly where they’re needed instead of getting lost between systems. Engineers spend their time on engineering judgment, not on moving data around.

Speed Without Compromising Data Confidence

“Engineers shouldn’t have to choose between working fast and working with confidence in their data. By connecting ROQC Sync with Oliasoft WellDesign, we’re giving subsurface and drilling teams a shared, trusted flow of trajectory data that keeps pace with how they actually plan wells.”

See it LIVE at ONS 2026

Those attending ONS 2026 in Stavanger this August can see the integration running live at

Oliasoft booth 8370, Hall 8, on Tuesday, 25 August, from 10:00 to 13:00.

This is the first step in a broader collaboration between Oliasoft and ROQC, with more to come.
